Thank You for an Inspiring Week!
The 51st Annual Mississippi Conference on Music and Liturgy has come to a close, and what a week it was! From the Opening Eucharist at Church of the Nativity to the Closing Eucharist on Saturday morning, the Delta resounded with the music of praise.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made MCCML 2026 so memorable—our faculty, staff, volunteers, host churches, and every conferee who traveled from near and far to join us. Thank you for being part of this remarkable community.

About the Conference
The Mississippi Conference on Church Music and Liturgy (MCCML) is an annual gathering for musicians, clergy, and all who are passionate about worship in the Episcopal tradition. For over 50 years, we have provided a space for spiritual renewal, musical excellence, education, and community. We welcome participants from all skill levels and backgrounds—from experienced choir directors and organists to those who simply love sacred music.
Founded in 1975 by Leslie N. Casaday at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Jackson, the conference has grown into one of the longest-running church music conferences in the Episcopal Church. Each summer, musicians and clergy from across the Diocese of Mississippi and beyond gather for a week of choral rehearsals, worship services, lectures, and fellowship.
The conference is grounded in the belief that music is not merely an adornment to worship but a vital expression of our faith. Through daily rehearsals, worship, and learning, participants are equipped to return to their home parishes with renewed energy, fresh music, and a deeper understanding of the role of music in liturgy.
What to Expect at MCCML
Whether you are a choir member, organist, clergy, seminarian, or simply someone who loves church music, you will find a warm welcome at MCCML. Our week together typically includes:
-
Under the direction of distinguished faculty, the conference choir rehearses daily in preparation for worship services. Music is selected to challenge and inspire singers of all abilities.
-
The conference centers around worship. The week includes an Opening Eucharist, Morning Prayer each day, Evensong at a host church, Compline, and a Closing Eucharist. These services are open to the public and are a highlight of the conference.
-
Faculty members lead sessions on topics such as liturgy, choral technique, organ repertoire, church leadership, and the theology of worship. These sessions provide valuable continuing education for church musicians and clergy.
-
One of the most cherished aspects of MCCML is the community. Meals are shared together, friendships are formed, and colleagues in ministry support one another. The annual Rose Hill Cabaret—our beloved talent show—is a joyful celebration of the gifts within our community.
-
Lois Fyfe Music joins us each year with an assortment of choral and organ music for participants to browse and purchase. Reading packets are available, allowing attendees to explore new music for their home parishes.
